After lots of time spent making abstract performance art, this show fits right into my aesthetic. Don't tell me what to think, present a collage of ideas and let me put it together myself. My wildly-different interpretations shouldn't be beholden to the designers or creators. Good works of any artform do that. I don't know about abstract performance art, but I've been saying something like this for years, about drum corps and other things: Don't tell me how to feel or what to think - show me what you have and move me. That's what the best drum corps shows do. And it seems as if most of the corps this year have delivered. For a while at the end of last decade it seemed like some drum corps had forgotten how to send a message without manipulative techniques. I would love to see a corps come out some year without a show title, without a show explanation, without telling me at all what to think and feel, and simply take me somewhere. This can be done, and it doesn't mean eschewing narration completely. It means enough clarity in the design, enough energy in the performance, and enough trust in the audience to make extraneous words unnecessary.

Now we're cooking with gas. And, elders (I say respectfully!), isn't this what shows were at one point?

I’m looking forward to them getting the ending right as those words are important, and they weren’t coming through clearly yet, other than something about a dragon. It’s also a clear allusion to Bloo.

(Forgive my senior moment if it's obvious to everyone but me.) I think it’s Scott Chandler.

OK … how about this … They aren’t Blooing, they’re Louing! 1

I am surprised that these corps are using real people for these.....since there are tons of computer generated options out there.....Boston's Don Quixote, Wicked Games, SOS, ZOOM etc. Each time I hear Crown’s narrator, I think of Mrs. Potts from Beauty and the Beast!
