Hard to swallow

With this season bringing out some of the best and worst in DCI Fans, what are some hard to swallow pills that fans don't understand

 

1. A first place brass finish at DCI Southwestern would still have Crown in 3rd place

2. Judges judge cleanliness, NOT enjoyment

As far as the scoring goes, SCV finished top in percussion and came in 5th. It's not only about how good you are in A caption, it's about how consistently good you are across ALL captions.

 

As for judges only judging cleanliness, they also judge communication. The corps may be communicating something that is not associated with enjoyment, like loneliness or anger, a sense of loss or of confusion. Or maybe they are communicating something associated with enjoyment like desire, wonder or fulfillment. Either way judges are giving them credit for the communication (GE) as well as cleanliness.

THIS. Is what the drum corps community needs to hear

Also, young DCI fans exist and they should be treated with the same respect. I see so much age discrimination in this community towards younger fans, and then all the elders cry "ageist!" just because DCI has age limits. You may have marched in the 70s or 80s, but you need to still need to grow up.

Just stop. I support the activity and have since 1968.  My kid marched nine seasons.  I’m going to Indianapolis. Are you?

Treated with respect?  You mean the same respect you just showed to people like me?
