Big jump in score tonight, congratulations Stars. Now onto Texas for a couple days of practice (stay hydrated) and hopefully another big jump in score this weekend.

I’m anxious to see the affect two days of rehearsal has on their performance tonight and tomorrow. I love this trippy show!

They had an indoor facility om Wed so that had to help them get in a full day of practice without heat restrictions.

I'm assuming some opener rewrites since I noticed parts wee cut to just standing the other day. The opener needs the same energy everything else in the show has. Seems like the formula has been slow builds into big hits so hopefully the amount of time to that first impact is shortened. The closer has been stuck in my head for days but I couldn't tell you one thing that is played in the opener.

Saw the final run through from Thursday night.   The center cube missing which made for weird visuals.  Bob the Builder has been called in to repair. In Whitewater I saw the prop crew taking the cubes apart.  Difficult operation.  3rd tenor in. Many changes in and a lot of cleaning done.  Blue Stars have one four hour rehearsal block from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM  but even that may be cut back.   It is hot here today but should be ok by start time and sun is down.

I was thinking today how groups have had consistent battery techs with great history (scojo,McIntosh, mcnutt, rennick) can always have solid lines no matter what placement the corps is in. Some of the best perc stars had were under the Shriver Mapes and Grom era. Maybe call and bring them on tour for a week just to get that little umph to clean the beats more. They are definitely improved from last year but if you want to beat the big names you need to play like them and fresh eyes always helps.

The Tom Aungst year(s) with the Blue Stars were pretty good, too.
