Fred Windish
Accuweather Current Weather Radar looks pretty good for tonight. Of course, future weather can always surprise! What I like about the radar maps for Allentown is lightning strikes are not showing-up for hundreds of miles away. I live 6 miles east from the stadium. It’s been rainy-looking ever since daybreak. But, no rain has fallen in my neighborhood so far. I don’t really see a serious threat to create a condition that all corps would not perform tonight at some point. I’m watching on Flo, so I hope I haven’t jinxed those attending in person! Edited August 4, 2023 by Fred Windish
TheOneWhoKnows
Okay fine. I'll go win the lottery and pay to renovate the stadium would that help make Allentown better?

No more weather worries for DCI's biggest Regional. Comfortable club seats. No more being squeezed in like sardines on bleacher seats. Turn it into a one day event, like San Antonio, which would cut the rental cost significantly. The dome is Syracuse is horrible. The boom effect in there is 3 times worse than Indy. Logistically it is a nightmare as it was setup many years ago. I personally think an outdoor stadium is best for DCI East. I get the reasons for wanting a dome but Drum & Bugle Corps is still best served outdoors in a nice stadium. If -- and this is a big if -- DCI gets to the point where they decide to leave Allentown there are some good options in Delware, D.C.-Maryland, PA, even in Buffalo NY, etc., but it would be nice to have at least one Regional outdoors. Just my 2 cents on this.

That is if DCI ever returns to NY

Phantom56
NFL stadiums are now charging very steep one day rental fees. Why DCI can no longer use beautiful Mercedes Benz stadium in Atlanta. Indy is the exception, due to DCI's long term deals they get from Lucas. San Antonio is not an NFL stadium, thus the Regional there is probably safe. Admittedly, Mercedes Benz was amazing when I went. Drum corps sounded great in there

Is there a reason that this area of the country doesn't have domes?
