Don’t they average all three nights for the final score?

How can scores especially content change so dramatically night to night.

Because you don't know how the DCI scoring system works.

If you understood, you would agree.

Blue Stars (88.625) 274/384 overall, highest 11th place

Troopers (89.475) 257/384 overall, 2nd highest 10th place

Colts (90.263) 238/324 overall, 3rd highest 9th place

The Cavaliers (92.125) 192/384 overall, highest 8th place

Phantom Regiment (92.988) 171/384 overall, 3rd highest 7th place

Believe it or not, there used to be such a thing (2 actually, VFW & AL) ; sometimes 20+ Corps would compete.   Yes most Corps were small, but they all came to play.

My first memory of drum corps was watching the holy name cadets win the American legion championship in 1957!
