Everything pointed to them having a successful season competitively and financially. At least enough to not be in trouble. So, when did all the ship righted and peaches and cream talk begin? This incredibly sad and surprising news will keep SCV off the top of the page for a while.
camel lips
I think most people see these top units in the public eye . SCV , CADETS [INSERT NAME] And think because of the polished appearance on the field, the flashy costuming and they large amount of field presence in terms of personnel, props and amplification that they have it together behind the scenes. Truth be told many of them [most] of them are holding on by a thread , thrown together in a blender and if examined under a microscope would be jailed and fined tomorrow. Tony Flores
Someone on the Drum Corps Coffe Shop posted SOA’s 2023 budget allocation…only 2.6% went to show production (assuming costumes, props, instruments)…the issue is absolutely not props, electronics, costumes 2

It was surprising when it was sexual assault that took him down, only because it was assumed that financial mismanagement would be his undoing. He put YEA in a crap position thru robbing Peter to pay Paul, and their weak-### Board (at the time) had no idea of what their financial position was. While that BOD's successors did what they could, they also gave away the one valuable asset Cadets had (US Bands) for a bowl of pottage from Blue Devils. So yes, the sins of Hopkins' foul financial management has more than a little role to play in today's announcement. Gas wasn’t the issue when the significant cost impacts began. The “model” was created by the corps.

Around 2015, supposedly GH contacted them asking for a good size loan. They said yes if he gave them US Bands in return. Oh well.
