YES! That was when that all happened! OY what a night/and next day!!!

Yes, Mass. State Police escort off of the property to the town limits of "Pibuddy"...I don't remember who yelled "MOON 'EM" when we passed the 8-10 police cars!

I DO remember that Larry came onto each bus and told us "if you have stolen anything OTHER than ashtrays and towels, PLEASE return it NOW...the State police have been notified, and the hotel staff is going to inventory every room!"

Several rather large pieces of art were pulled out from the busses, as well as some lamps, and the odd end table.

That was also the same day we did the parade in Boston, and Dave Krauss wore the guard skirt, and the drumline ALL carried some sort of alcoholic libation in our stick bags! (we took a lot of breaks during THAT parade!)

To add to Jeff's post....YES that was when McShane went up to the poor lifeguard, and asked if someone lost their bathing suit...then said, whoops, it's mine! (and also he did the strip teas up in his hotle window, and threatened to jump into a cooler from the 2nd floor!)

WHAT a trip!!!!

Seeing the last two posts together brings up a question.

Hey Ben, wasn't 1980 AL at Boston the year Westshore got kicked out of the hotel? Possible poilce escort off the hotel property. I keep hearing Bruce Bolig saying "####ing Peabody" (pronouced Pee-buddy) over and over again. And a lot of corps members then didn't even want to talk about it. :sshh:

Pee-buddy was Peabody, MA where the hotel was....

The night before 1984 DCA on the way to the Reading "Clap show".

We stop at a Mickey Ds and one of the sops is at the counter with his corps pants on and shorts underneath. When he goes to pay he realizes he can't get at his wallet. So in Westshore tradition he just drops his pants while giving his order. Girl behind the counter can't see the shorts and thinks he's a perv in action. Add in that there are about 50 corps members at the counter and no one even notices the dropped pants. Guy pays, pulls pants up and walks away and the girl is still trying to pick her jaw off the ground.

Dan Bowman on hearing about it later "Oh ####### man, Westshore is back".....

there was an old guy up in Bridgeport CT. that used to drive around on a golf cart with a bull horn talking about being a "personal friend of Harvey Olderman" etc. He was some sort of official greeter or something...(and I think the old guy was half in the bag) but I remember being on the bus talking to someone (I was in the Bucs at the time) who was wearing a Blue Devils shirt at the friont of the bus...This guy walks into the bus and looks at Barts shirt and goes "Blue Devils, I'm _____ a personel friend of Harvey Olderman, and we welcome you to our show! We're so happy to have the Blue Devils here from" ...to Bart..."where ya from kid?" Concord California" "Concord California, I'll bet that was a long bus ride, but we're so glad to have you here...yadda yadda yadda"

That was Skully,... in the Hurcs we called him "the Mayor" sometimes..... along with this local Bum... they both liked the corps and were "hangers on"... you're lucky Skully didn't just drive his car onto the practice field with you on it....he had a "Bullhorn " system in his car too! Also a good thing he didn't see your women either....Then he would stand in front of a couple of them pull out his hair comb..run it through his thinning hair a couple times...then put the comb above his upper lip.... holding it there with his nose...rapping with them all along....he was too funny.

I think the guy might have had stock in viagra or something... always put an act on for the ladies!!!

He was way TOOOOOOOO Funny

I was wondering who that guy was.I remember in 1986,when I was in Garfield ,this dude comes on the bus and pretty much gives us the same exact speech, minus the Blue Devil part. :P
