Moe712002
W O A H !! This Certainly came out of left field.IHMO I Really feel that Casella was a Really good fit with SCV, kinda wish he wouldv'e stayed with the Organization. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm sure they do too. They blew it.
Moe712002
Glad someone finally pointed that out. :) That said, Jim's arrangements are incredible...........without Jim around this season, my vote for percussion arranger of the year was for Murray, with Rennick close behind. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Too bad Murray isn't coming back either. incognito
Really? I heard a rumor the Cadets were pretty good this year. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Did someone sing that rumor to you?
incognito
Does this mean the Cavies will be marching with slanted snare drums next year?
hughesmr
Does this mean the Cavies will be marching with slanted snare drums next year? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ... or marching Pearl? Wow, now THAT would be a change from what we've come accustomed to all these many years. (yeah, I know, they marched Pearl in the 80s, but another time, another era...) elementwrx
Does this mean the Cavies will be marching with slanted snare drums next year? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Didn't you read that post a few posts back. Casella never had much to do with the technique program at SCV, that was Gusseck (and Ralph Hardimon, but he's gone now). After talking to one of my band directors who tends to know, it seems like Casella's title as "Caption Coordinator" just means he'll be hiring all the staff to work with the drumline, but he won't be the one out on tour working the drumline and such. I'm sure he'll play a big role though. Casella is going to write some sweet grooves for The Cavaliers!
CowboyKen
I'd certainly put Madison in the mix for #1 next year. They jump from #12 to #4 in ONE YEAR and had very few ageouts, including none in the snare line. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I TOTALLY agree on this!! ^OO^ ^OO^ ^OO^
BennyASU
good lord... not to say that the Cavies percussion is weak by any means, but it has been one of the few captions they havent been dominant in...Cassela should change that. this is just plain scary how good it could be! Bill Cosby
Personally, I think this whole thread is a little ridiculous. Cavies have been a top 5 drumline for...let's see...over a decade?! (I'm not exactly sure about Cavies drum score history, but it's a good guess). Kuhn was nothing to laugh at. He was very good. Yeah, Casella will be great for the program...but, holy ****, is it that big of a deal?! Just a side note, SOMF69, about your signature (the "I wish I was drumming" idea)...I'm assuming you saw the Cadets show this year. If you didn't notice, they played more notes than ANYBODY! They deserved their trophy.
