mistofflies
Dave Tippett used to say that during rehearsals. Of course, I always had the Bene Gesserit in mind..Litany Against Fear
JayM
I think most of the internet memes come from either fark, 4chan, or SOMETHINGAWFUL DOT COM. It is my opinion that the better ones come from SA. :)
mistofflies
And on the topic of loud hornlines... I would vote 1997 and 2001 Madison. Man 2001 Madison...the end...when everyone is kneeling and just wailing their guts out... Loud.

UTAmello
My take on volume at the sacrifice of sound quality, in picture form.

scouttimp
OK, making the assumption that tone quality and tuning are assumed, and we are only talking about volume.First off, nothing in the Bflat era can compare to the volume of the corps on G bugles. The corps now just don't have the power they did and its mostly due to the horns. As far as rip your face off volume I would have to go with 86 SCV. When they laid into Great Gate of Kiev you felt your insides rumble. I have been told that 89 Regiment was extremely powerful but I marched in it so never got to hear from the front. I was in the audience when PR played with the Kansas City Symphony. It was LOUD. I still remember the looks on the string sections faces at the FFF in Elsas... Priceless!
