BLUE DEVILS 2022 The Return
cmhs59 replied to theonlyfizzle's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Speaking of rings. VERY early phone call tomorrow morning. Hello. Is this Tiffany's? We hate to interrupt your breakfast, but we need to order about 200 Championship rings. For the 20th time the 2022 "Moon River" Blue Devils Drum Corps from Concord, California have won the Championship. We will need to send you the sizes for most of the marching members. But, the sizes for the staff are still the same. They never change. Jerry -

To celebrate their 20th Championship in2022, will the "Moon River" Blue Devils have their rings made at Tiffany's? -
Will DCA be around in 5 years?
cmhs59 replied to GetOFFmyDot's topic in DCA - All-Age Corps Discussions
DCA should have never gone to DCI "light". Go back to three man squads. Starting line and finish line. Color Pre and concert. Many more people would be able to march in such a corps. Sorry--too late. -
Truley loved all drum corps. R.I.P.

I asked Jerry Seawright what his favorite drum corps song was. Ken Normans Auld Lang Syne. Honest.

RIP Ron Gunn ( I Need Tickets guy)
cmhs59 replied to boxingfred's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I really, really like that guy. He knew a lot about drum corps. When The Colts changed their ending a few years ago to the girl stepping in front of the guy and getting shot I thought Ronn was going to have the big one. Worthy of at least an Emmy. RIP Ronn -
Jerry Seawright. Because!

Did anyone else see the Bon Bons in a film clip of an old parade? -

You don't name names. Is that because you're not at liberty to do so. -
Would you still cheer . . .?
cmhs59 replied to Fred Windish's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Sounds like Japan to me. And I don't have a problem with that at all. -
If Current DCI Model Gets Cut Back...
cmhs59 replied to JimF-LowBari's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I'm not so sure of that. I got to see a lot of great drum corps the past 60 years. -

From what I've gathered… General Flynn took the plea to protect his son. -
What do you miss the most about The 1970's? 80's?
cmhs59 replied to KeithHall's topic in Historical Junior Corps Discussions
Hey Keith...….John Hathaway was judging a parade in Mayville, NY this past July 4th. Looked pretty good for an old guy. -

An "oldie but goodie". -
If there is ANY reason to be as old as I am(other than getting here) is that I can honesty say I have seen in person nearly all of the shows listed here. It's been a great run. Something like 36 DCI weekends. And many, many shows in between. Not in Indianapolis this weekend and miss it more than I thought I would. Well, maybe next year.

Blue Devils will win on Saturday evening. If they don't win number 19 in 2019, how are they ever going to win number 20 in 2020?!? Nobody Does It Better!

Do Cavaliers catch Crown?
cmhs59 replied to PopcornEater1963's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I lurk on here quite a bit. Just don't want to get involved in all of the banter. I went to the show in Murfreesboro last Friday and really came away with some interesting conclusions. Especially after all of the dialog I've been reading about corps not marching and playing at the same time--the old "park and bark" thing. Whoda thunk ya'll were talking about the Cavaliers! -

Got the tickets I needed. Thanks Drum Corps Planet!
