rmurrey74
If it's such a secret, why are returning vets posting "the red violin" on their facebook statuses? The show title may not be "the red violin," but that's what they're doing. Everyone in Phantom is now just a big fan of the movie....there's NO other reason! :) Edited December 5, 2008 by rmurrey74
Galen
all this fuss about what may or may not be a rumor...god i love the offseason! It sure beats #####ing about Hoppy, the Cadets, narration and electronics all the time
Peel Paint
There is a lot of Good Music in that film...great movie also. I agree, it's a wonderful film, particularly for music lovers, following one specific violin through multiple owners through history. And the score is terrific. Whether or not Phantom's show is directly tied to the film concept, it's worth checking out: http://www.netflix.com/Movie/The_Red_Violin/5670353
U27athecopa
People keep talking about red violence on this thread - but communists countries are not the only countries that are violent. Please refrain from characterizing it as "Red Violence"...
Michael Boo
all this fuss about what may or may not be a rumor...god i love the offseason! True. Besides, I heard Phantom was planning a a show based on Prince's "Purple Rain." Edited to add late breaking info on possibility of a Vanna White/Howie Mandal retrospective. CookieMonster
Well I heard that PR's show this year is based on the revolutionary musical stylings of a little known, but prolific and varied romantic composer, Sir Richard Astlenson Edited December 5, 2008 by CookieMonster
DoctorNik
When did DCI vote to allow violins?I'm so confused. they're not real violins,,, they're sampled and played by 18 different synth players.. and to go with the theme,, the synths are painted red... geesh,, don't you know anything? glory
Respect for the people who are putting this show together and want their privacy, maybe? Sorry, we're not talking about social security numbers or naked anatomy. Besides, if those people you want to respect genuinely wanted to keep it a secret, then maybe they shouldn't be telling hundreds of teenagers, their parents and pretty much anyone who happens to be walking by. You tell a group, you takes your chances. After that, it's fair game for the rest of us. And that is as it should be. HH
