Why? The "ugliest" comment I've read was from people surmising that there may be some bad blood, judging by the release. I would agree if someone stated that a specific person made a specific comment that can't be confirmed, that comment should be deleted.

I agree with others: Mr. Degraewe's comment in the press release should have been along the lines of expressing excitement about directing the corps again, mentioning that future staff announcements will be forthcoming soon and perhaps wishing former staffers well in their endeavors if any reference to former staff is made at all. The way it was written practically begs people to read between the lines.

Although, looking at it again, it's not press release by the corps.

It's a post by the director on the corps website, and the audience appears to be staff, alumni, vets, etc. Mr. Degraewe probably didn't intend for this to be broadcast publicly.

The corps will likely remove the post at some point and issue a more typical release announcing the appointment.

Why is it that we always have to tiptoe around any issues that have to do with the Cavaliers? If everyone is honest with themselves, they would agree that, if Hopkins had put out something of this nature, there would be 68 pages on this thread about how The Cadets are on death's door and it's all the fault of electronics, Bb instruments, or BOA.

Aren't the older people the ones who are all "be careful what you put on your facebook, everyone can see the internet, omg!!!!!!111"

if you don't want everyone to see something, it shouldn't be posted on the internet.

I think you all are missing the real major concern here......

Why would anyone after 1936 name their child Adolph?

Thank you....tip your waitress..

This a very strange way to announce this change. Mr. DeGrauwe says he doesn't want to sling mud, but really takes aim at the previous leadership by explicitly implying members have lost confidence in the corps and the staff needs reunited. Why should one not speculate and make assumptions when public statements like this are made?

Because it's speculation and assumption based on no information other than a poorly worded announcement. Adolph is a good man with lots of experience running a quality drum corps. He's not a public relations specialist. How about we cut him some slack.

Thank you, Adolph for stepping up.
