2000Cadet
What I don't understand is why there are 10 pages dedicated to this topic and there is another similar topic running here too. I know YEA and the Cadets don't like to acknowledge DCP and the postings sometimes, but you have to admit, it's where they get a ton of buzz, in or out of season. Because people like you keep adding comments, DUH!! If you don't know already, this forum is used to generate discussion; good, bad, and ugly. euponitone
I personally like the new logo. I have always been a fan of "the Cadets of Bergen County" script. Change is a huge part of the Cadets, but Posture problems.... really, really... Its ok DB - it was the 90's....and everybody's elbows looked like that
tommyfromhowardst
This is a drum corps urban legend. I agree. I even designed a logo for them but it got pooped on. I still think it would make a great tee shirt or bumper sticker. They can have all the proceeds--just send me a shirt!!
JamMan
If anything, a logo change only signals more changes to come ... and honestly that scares me. Didn't most of the country vote for change? Also, see my quotes in the bottom of my post.
supersop
Didn't most of the country vote for change? Also, see my quotes in the bottom of my post. Change is one thing. Change for the sake of change (or to cover your keister) is quite another. It's not like America voted to change our name to the United Counties within States of North America. UCSNA would look wierd don't you think? Who would really know it was the old USA? Maybe if we just make a new flag with the same colors it would make everything ok. It's Godzilla!
You're taking this way too seriously, supersop. I can tell from your signature that you've got some unresolved issues with the organization, but it's just a logo, man. It comes down to how an organization wants to be seen, and they don't want to be seen as the running man anymore. I think a company is allowed to change their look a couple of times in three quarters of a century. Not to mention that the general consensus I picked up on from Cadets members is that the running man logo is probably the least liked of all the previous logos. There's a reason a good chunk of their merchandise has the Garfield G or no logo at all.
Mello Dude
It's an OK logo. The design seems to be 2 color so anything they get made for it will be MUCH cheaper than 3+ colors. It's just a logo.

The only time the running man made it big was with the evolution t-shirts. they were completely sold out half way through tour.
JGuy1288
So can anyone honestly tell me this: If this was another corps who changed their logo, would people put down the corps and say some bad things about them? If it was Blue Devils, Crown, or Phantom no one would be putting them down. They changed their logo for a new era in the corps. Too bad some people are too one-sided to see that. Actually, I'm pretty sure that if any of the corps you mentioned changed their logo, people would be putting up a fight, especially with Phantom and Crown (would Crown have to change their name too if they changed their logo to something else?). It's not because people hate The Cadets. I personally love them. I just don't quite like this new logo as much as the last one.
madalumni
I like it. It's solid, has a good concept with the chevrons that elude to moving forward. I guess the only thing about it that falls a little flat for me, is the font....it looks corporate instead of art or music related. I think using a seriff font or italicizing the existing one could do wonders. But overall it's pretty decent as is.
