corpsband
Paint it black was 40+ years ago. Bah. The Stones are STILL touring (despite my having bought a Stones 'Final Tour' T-Shirt in 1981 :-) Edited July 10, 2011 by corpsband

superOOk
Bold Prediction of the Night: Blue Devils pass Cadets to win the show... Here are my predictions: Blue Devils - 83.25 Cadets - 83.2 Phantom - 80.7 SCV - 79.9 Blue Knights - 78.0 And the actual scores.... Cadets - 82.75 Blue Devils - 82.20 Phantom - 79.55 SCV - 79.20 Blue Knights - 77.25 Phantom got screwed tonight. I think BD should have won easily as well. dugada
All he did was sit in chairs. I heard he also had a mirror and lived in a house, but it was not a home.

saxfreq1128
Think outward (to crowd), not inward (to judges). We all love BD for their talent (which they have in both players and instructors), but they struggle to connect with the audience many years. This year being another example of that -- Burt Bacharach? What generation is that supposed to appeal to???? What generation? Thats an odd question. Which generation is a drum corps show's music supposed to appeal to? Whichever it is, I have a hard time believing that Bacharach -- ie, standard american pop music, American idol fodder, culturally recognizable romcom fare -- is such a wrongheaded choice... I would imagine it qualifies for "mass appeal."
Todd Tanji
I heard he also had a mirror and lived in a house, but it was not a home. He was too esoteric. People just want to be entertained.

oldbandguy
I do think DCI needs to be careful with going to far to appease the fans cause most of them barely know what they're looking at. They see a company front and go nuts. Oh thank you o wise one for letting us know that, unlike you, most DCI fans don't know what they are looking at. How pompous of you! And as for going nuts at seeing a company front ...compared to golf claps for seeing mirrors...maybe you should think about that for a moment.
