OT - earthquake in the east

Yeah, originated in central Va, right near a nuclear power plant... Felt it all the way in North Jersey!

Definitely felt it here in the Baltimore area.

And until I read this thread, I had no idea what it was.... our next-door neighbor is getting some roofing work done, and I thought it might have been something related to that.

Actually, experienced Californians DO pay attention to anything above the 5.5 level....anything less than a 4 is a big truck driving by the house, tho.

Glad everyone's safe...a strong quake is scary enough when you grow up with them....even more so when you're in an area no kn own for them.

Newark NJ was a cluster where I work. Buildings all evacuated and everyone's great organized plans for evacuation got lost in the midst of self preservation.

It is true, the higher you are the harder you fall. In comparing notes with other offices, up on the 25th floor we had far more swaying than those on the 5th.

I was in my office (northeast Ohio) doing my Fran Haring impression.

The quake woke me right up out of a sound sleep.

That wasn't the quake waking you from your nap ... :huh:
