2000Cadet
I just heard from 2000Cadet's attorneys and, apparently, due to the substantial similarity of terms used, my attempts at term circumvention were insufficient to avoid licensing obligations. In order to avoid litigation, I will be sending a check for $2 with quickness aplenty. Whoops, $3. I'm glad you recognized the follies of your ways. Catan
After seeing Cadets live for the second time last night in Bristol, the show finally started to click with me. Just a fabulous design musically and visually. Yes, it feels recycled and not particularly inventive, but boy it is all in the execution! The narration and voiceovers are intertwined so seamlessly with the music it is hard to believe this is the same corps that gave us the cringe-inducing narration of 2007 & 2008... Glad you enjoyed it. Honestly, I'm a homer and the first time I saw the show, I hated it. As I watched it several more times, I started catching the nuances and complexities to it. It is not in your face, playing multiple runs or running across the field, but rather it offers us various tempo responsibilities, very exposed visual show (marching with cream color pants), high guard demand with multiple unison responsibilities vs the clumps of guard members doing their own thing which makes timing issues less noticeable, and just a wonderfully arranged and performed musical production. I get Crown plays lots of notes and wonderfully, and Coats have an energetic fan friendly show but Cadets are just offering something more emotional with more subtle complexities so you're not going to have the crowd screaming. IMO, they are all powerhouses and we have 3 contenders at the same show hence the tight numbers. BD is practically touring by themselves. chris ncsu
Last year's line was pretty unreal, but this one might be even more so.
theCHEZman
Last year's line was pretty unreal, but this one might be even more so.I think the magic of the Cadets this year is that all captions are competitive and the show is very well constructed. Last year, guard and towers were a looming threat but I just don't see any "issues" this season except that they are touring with 2 other contenders so it can get tight. brichtimp
Thanks George. Love your little treats. It's another glorious Cadets brass line. Excellent brass line, although for my taste, I would like to hear a shade more bass horns in the balance on the tutti chords. The quality of the Cadets arrangements will be a treat at PPL. theCHEZman
Interested to see some of the new changes in the show. Also hope we get a score back in the range of BD which they were before that Bristol, RI show.
