Tone Quality Matters Posted July 27, 2014 Share Posted July 27, 2014 This was an A+ panel and the scores were very consistent as a whole. I cannot believe some of you rookies are stupid enough to take on the likes of Oliviero, Hinman, Torchia and Lo. These folks are finals level judges who have done this for ages who frankly, rarely get it wrong. I attended the show, but was way up so there was quite the echo to battle. However, it sounded as if the sextuplet single feature with alternating one hand playing was off. I also noticed the judge right in front of them as they played it. At this level blowing one feature can drop you like a rock. I've always thought Allan Kristensen to be a straight-up judge. I read this score as a bad run-through for the battery. It happens. They have 2 weeks and they have to push to be cleaner - consistently. I think the front field staging of the BD feature gives them every opportunity to build content and execution scoring...what a great line they are. As a Cadets fan, I was happy to see that AK scored their achievement within a tenth of SCV, who have that sweet Rennick book and a power house pit as well.
