IMcomguy
I didn't hear it either. Either way, the quality of the audio stream was significantly better tonight than it was during yesterday's live stream. I was at the stadium yesterday, but when I came home to listen to the nasty high pitched whine in portions of that stream, I had to turn it off. So yes, I completely agree tonight was FANTASTIC from start to end.

Kamarag
So the judges score the corps compared to other corps? I thought they score to the sheets. So why are there numbers to manage? Doesn't that lead to slotting? The judges job is to rank and then rate, using the criteria on the sheets. Slotting is what happens when your corps doesn't finish where you think they should.
Tommeee
Does anyone else prefer Bloo's hornline over any other hornlines? Their low brass is so good that I like them more than Crown this year.I have preferred Bloo's low brass over all others for about the past 10 years.

Doesn't that lead to slotting? I'm with you all the way, Dad. I'm just tired of beating my head against the wall. I thought scores were "earned." "Management" implies...well....you're the choir....
futurebluecoat
Overall as a hornline my favorite ever is definitely Crown 13. I haven't really listened to much Star though. But Bloo's low brass is just so #### awesome.

drangin
What makes you say that, precisely? I'd love to know what you'd describe as different in the beginning to the end... maybe I can get that information to people... but I can't describe it; I didn't hear it. Let me know. What I mean is I hear the compressor reacting to loud peaks in the music because it's not following the natural attack/release tendencies of the music properly. An optimal compression setting will minimize those artifacts to the point that they aren't as noticeable, and some compressors are just better at it than others.
