corpsband
Man! I see green silk shirts and white and green feathers ALL OVER THIS!! Unbelievable. Yeah -- no "let's put the runs in the pit" in *that* video :-) For me this music say Cadets (for obvious reasons -- Sparke) but I don't care -- anyone who *can* play this should do it.
RocketRay
It's been about 35 years since it was last performed (AFAIK). Someone should do "Pictures de Espana" for their opener. Preferably Boston. :)
MikeD
I would be immeasurably impressed with the corp that had the guts to play this. There is a nice concert band transcription of this...I just sent it to our band director as a potential opener... My link
mingusmonk
Jurassic Park Theme, slowed down ... a lot ... like x1000% ... as a ballad. Hard part is picking out which segment of the 54 minute piece to insert. No need to worry about copyright. John Williams himself wouldn't recognize it!

You know what's funny....several months ago I started playing around with slowing down drum corps hornline warmups and chorales in VLC player....very dramatic effect (Gets a little muddy sounding on the low tones though) JTW is the best IMO.....I don't what a lot of you think....just listen to those chords in Jurrasic... Lance
This moves me to tears every time I hear it. It's the closing credits from The Pacific miniseries on HBO. The whole thing is beatiful, but go to 2:46 to hear what could really be remarkable by corps. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHONZGmOafg
charlie1223
It's Deserted by James Newton Howard from the movie King Kong Great intensity, in your face, edgy. This piece definitely creates a tense mood, the melodic themes are short but VERY effective. Moments: *The beginning - 1:30 (slower, dramatic) *5:30 - end (epic) Edited February 12, 2011 by charlie1223
