mellojay84
There's a lot of banter in several threads, about certain corps pulling a "park and blow" more than others.. Just for the sake of argument, I got out a stopwatch, and timed the top 4 corps after a discussion and debate with friends on this subject. The results? This is the time spent MARCHING and PLAYING. I did not time standstill "movements" ONLY marching and playing. Many notes were taken, and special attention was paid to acts of deception, where everyone else is moving, while Trumpets stand and play.. Baritones stand and play.. etc.. (I use that term "deception" playfully, all the corps do it, I'm not playing any favorites here.) These slight-of-hand moments were NOT timed. Devils 3:29 Coats 4:55Crown 4:49Cadets 6:04presented purely for informational purposes. I'm NOT playing favorites here. Please don't crucify me!!....also, the order (top to bottom) corresponds to the overall speed of drill.. with Devils marching at a more "stately" pace most of the time, and Cadets basically running for most of their 6:04... corpsband
<dcpcue> Another poster lists times which result in a completely different ranking using his own standard of "marching and playing". Claims original poster's methodology is flawed and his is superior. Rinse and repeat. </dcpcue>
