Tad_MMA
I REALLY hope this guard change does them justice. Would be nice to see a type of guard like they had during the 90s. Honestly the biggest things I'm nervous about is the guard caption and the drill and it is because I've neither seen any of the work by the guard caption head (sans a few youtube videos) nor by the new visual designer (even though he "teched" me when I marched). Just thinking back almost 35 years: Cadets haven't had that many drill writers: George Zingali ('82-'85, '87, '88), Tony Hall ('86), Marc Sylvester ('89-'94, '01 + a bunch of add-ons to Zingali), Jeff Sacktig ('95-'00, '02-'15). Really, only Tony Hall was unsuccessful (with a pot of rookies) but went to Phantom and wrote some phenomenal stuff. And remember: after spending half a year as a color guard tech (where they finished 9th), April G. became caption head in 1989 and they won.

Should hopefully speak to the decision process of GH when picking new caption heads. I guess we will see where it leads. I'm still a little on the fence; I'll probably calm down once the season rolls around and I can actually see what they produce.

perc2100
This is a debate. People come on here to do just that. People make points and counterpoints. I'll continue to do just that. You and I are done. Case closed. Anyway, as Brasso says, there are a lot of high expectations for Cadets show this year. I really hope they live up to it because last year they were close, and I'll just leave it at that. I see what you did there...
perc2100
Two very different shows. pushing around 36 statutes would certainly be an unimpressive visual design

mfrontz
Count me among those who are unimpressed by the title.

Jeff Ream
hey the tenor line smoked in 99. they can't all be winners. Remember 89 is one of their most beloved shows ever.....5th place. to get flustered over a title or concerned about new staff in December is IMO kinda silly
