There's some bits that just don't go together visually. But the musical pacing is fine and great to me. Their show makes no sense at all to me. It seems they just wonder around and every now and then they hurry and form a square or triangle and play a really loud note. It certainly has nothing do with the title. At least they are trying something different from a stupid story where somebody gets killed. And they surely need some fresh leadership. Cadets certainly have a lot of firepower when it comes to performers, but if they don't clean the feet then you could be right. Dirty feet kill music captions fast. To me Cavaliers have a solid, well thought out show, and the visual drill and guard integration is stellar. But I do not think GE is their strong point. But I'm also not a judge. One thing is for sure, the Cavaliers are very good. I don't think GE on the musical side is a strong point for the Cavaliers, although I like this show, musically, more than I've liked a Cavies music book in a long time. I do, however, feel the Cavies should score high on the visual side of GE. The Cadets, IMO, are suffering from a less than stellar visual design. I can't believe they won brass with the demanding drill they had last year. It was a well deserved win, IMO. I just think the Cadets show this year, from a design standpoint, isn't even on the same level as their show last year - musically or visually. Yes, they have firepower when it comes to performers, which is why I think they can win brass and percussion, but it won't be enough to get them above 4th, IMO. Probably a penalty of some sort since they set back up from the beginning Interesting. I would think the corps would have a Plan B which is to play any solo with a mic out on the keyboard.
