Favorite 2016 Programs?

I feel like SCV has had the favorite the last couple of years but can't get every piece to work in their favor. I see a championship in their future.

This year is interesting for me. The corps that usually field my favorite shows didn't this year and vice versa.

My favorite is SCV - by far. It takes me to another place.

Honorable mentions in order of my ardor:

Cadets: Loved 2011. Love 2016. Nuff said.

Blue Devils: The ocean waves and cute little ship in the opener set up the show brilliantly. The execution is breathtaking.

Boston: Because "The Impossible Dream" is one of my favorite songs of all time and reminds me of my childhood. It just gets to me. What can I say?

Academy has a great show - clearly they are the newest darlings of DCI. The buzz is well earned and it's awesome watching the growth. The only reason the show isn't a favorite of mine is because I used to play in a lot of oldies rock bands and "Unchained Melody" was like "Louie Louie" and I just grew so weary of it... I do appreciate EVERYTHING else about the show. I especially love the choreography and when the tombstones tilt. A lot of fun stuff and creative little touches like that in there.

2016 Academy reminds me a lot of the 2012 Jersey Surf " Bridgemania " show. People from around the country loved it better than the 2012 Blue Devils DCI winning show. that season too. Academy has almost twice as many people here on DCP liking their show better than they do the undefeated, and recent 2 in a row DCI Champion Blue Devils.

Academy's 2016 show is currently enjoyed by more DCP'ers than not only BD,... but also, Crown, Bluecoats, Cadets 2016 shows. Thats pretty amazing when we think about it....... and it once again tells us that what the DCI judges like and what the fans like, are oftentimes completely different, and at complete odds with one another.

Thought I'd do some reworking of the percentages for the top 5 on this poll since the ones shown above are thrown off a bit by people voting for multiple corps:

SCV - 48.9% of the 131 people who have voted as of now have this show as one of their favorites

Academy - 43.5%

Crown - 42.7%

Bluecoats - 39.7%

Blue Devils - 21.9%

Well I guess I agree with the majority pretty well, because those are the 5 I selected.

After the last two days in Broken Arrow and Denton, these shows stood out the most to me, in no order.

Oregon Crusaders

Santa Clara Vanguard

A good few of those might be all time favorites too. WOW.
