Didn't the little girl soloist that the Blue Devils utilized at Championships last season ( that helped put BD over the top ) come from another Corps ? ( BDB ). Didn't she compete on a team vs. other teams last season... until Championships ?

Imagine if a Babe Ruth League Baseball team in a community could get a pitcher from another lower placing team for the league's playoffs competition run.

No don't imagine it. It would never happen. Its not legal under just about all leagues transfer policies.. ( for obvious reasons ).

Placement has not changed in the past 20 years. That is DCI marketing plan.

What is the main reason that we have the same 3 or 4 corps competing for the title and then have the same next 3 or 4 competing for the middle tier and then the same 5 or 6 corps competing for the finals 12 spot every season?

Money?

Staff?

Location? (better weather)

Better understanding of the judges and the sheets?

Talent lever? (my feeling, but why do certain corps attract the better talent? )

You would think that once in awhile, there would be a corps that would catch lighting in a bottle and move up a bit or one of the top 3 or 4 corps would have an off year and move down a few spots but it seems like there is very little movement from year to year.

This is by no means and attack on our activity. It's just a question from a fan that is not involved with corps as much as he used to be in the past.

E, all the above.

I'm pretty sure her SISTER was in another corps. Not her.

If you look at it honestly (and had to pick just one) , I'd say it's money. It gives you stability.

Once you've found your "team", being able to keep your staff intact by ensuring them a secure living leads to all the other items.

I understand that most people would seemingly rather have a root canal, than even consider the thought of having DCI implement a reasonable, sensible, rational transfer policy. Fine. Ok. But such people make me shrug and just smile if they somehow think that the Blue Devils domination of DCI the last 4 decades, won't likewise continue for the next half a century too, without a reasonable, sensible, rational transfer policy put in place among all the competing teams( Corps)
