Buffalo Corps, Won't You Come Out Tonight? (Aug. 7, 2016)

Cadets almost a point over Cavies. Cavaliers good visual scores aren't enough. Finals is looking like: 4.Cadets 5.SCV 6. Cavs. IMO

Honestly I just hope people won't leave Lucas Oil en masse if BD is announced in 1st place finals night like people did last year. The members don't deserve that.

Agreed....it's an incredible year..savor every minute till the stadium lights are turned off.

Has a corps ever won drums and brass and finished in like 5-6th? Cadets take music and fall flat everywhere else.

No one said they can't play horns or drums. As they've cleaned up, those captions are starting to shine. As they continue, visual hopefully moves up a bit and GE improves (relatively).

. And that's saying a lot.

It was very competitive caption this year. LOL

Congratulations. You win the most inaccurate post of the season award!

Amazing. Cadets low GE scores indicate the worse designed show in the history of DCI but a high music score and an internal investigation is warranted. Anyone whose seen Cadsts will say how great their brass and percussion even though they may question show design or effectiveness. Edited by Tobias

The genius's who run DCI aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer.

The NY issue has very little to do with DCI policy. The scholastic education programs in NY do not conclude until nearly the last day in June. The last 2 weeks of that are focused on standardized tests required for graduation eligibility. The NY system is simply not compatible with the DCI move-in spring training schedule... and it's the fault of New York's prideful intentions to be different from the rest of the country. Consequently, "drumcorps" in NY has long been a reference only to DCA. The old timers in NY still refer to DCI as "junior corps"... with a subordinate/inferior implication to the term. Faithful drumcorps fans of years past in NY remain fairly ignorant due to the lack of exposure (for the reason given). Edited by cfirwin3

Well, the DCI Drum Corps season in the state of New York sure went by in a flash, A one nite season. 2 DCI shows, both on the same night. Thats it for the 4th largest state in the Country until next season's 1 nite DCI. Iowa had 6 DCI shows this season. The state of New Jersey had 1 DCI show this season, but nobody in New Jersey even saw that one in their state, as it was a rainout. The entire Country of Canada has pretty much been abandoned now by DCI. Thats even a bit nostalgic as the largest DCI Finals attendance in DCI's history took place north of the border there in Canada ( not in the US ). Things do change in DCI Drum Corps, and so this is but one more of the changes that those still following the DCI Drum Corps activity learn to adjust to.

This is what we in the deep deep south deal with all the time. There's a huge number of shows in the new England area compared to what we have available. Houston is the closest TOC show. Louisiana has one show with just a few of the big corps. Traveled to Austin last year for a rain out to try to see the Cadets one time live. Fail. I understand the business. Maybe one day I'll retire and just fly from one to another. Until then, I'll be in the cinema on Thursday night.
