Carolina Crown 2017

Recommended Posts

Well musically the staff is largely in tact -- so maybe you'll be disappointed. Morricone, Barber, Dobson, Sting, Cohen -- yep. Not enough variety. Bb thing has been blown up by many posts with actual scores in hand. Do they hit at least one big Bb chord every season -- heck yeah. Does that make sense when your brass is in the key of -- wait for it -- Bb? Left as an exercise for the reader.

Visually -- I agree that Leon May had a tendency to reuse drill. Will be fun to see what Sacktig brings to Crown.

On the gripping hand, you can make the "same" argument with every corps whose designers remain the same year to year.

Where has Leon May gone since Jeff Saktig is now the designer?

The only new name on that list is Lindsey Vento. WGI folks may know her from the Odessa HS and Union HS guard programs. Brought both of those programs to the national scene.

(Chris Considine was with Xmen last year as their Vis. Caption Head but had been on Crown's staff before that.)

And of course Ron Is returning.

So yeah -- Crown's entire visual team left
