And you know what goes with North Korean music...

MASS GAMES!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mass_games

"We'd like to apply for approval to add 10,000 members. And we want to put most of them in the back stands."

"Uh ... no."

"But they'll be PROPS!"

Two words.

Robotic.

Mannequins.

I agree about not trying to recreate something so iconic on stage or film. It won't stop me from suggesting something based on the labor movement theme in Billy Elliot and making use of that good music.

It may be a bit derivative now of the Cavies Propaganda, but how about something built around Green Day's American Idiot?

InJoy

All about the big moments in our lives that bring us joy. Birth, First Love, Marriage, Having Kids/Grandkids, Going to the afterlife/great beyond to join loved ones.

- "All I Need is a Miracle" could work for for finding love and/or conceiving a child

- "The Living Years"...another Mike and the Mechanics song because I'm a little obsessed with Mike Rutherford's writing lately. Could be an amazing part of a ballad.

- "God Moving Over the Face of the Waters" could work in many ways thematically

- "Ode to Joy" could work for birth OR going to the beyond

- Any and all wedding marches would work

"Hope" by Klaatu, a Canadian band from the '70's. When Dr. Keith Markey and I attempted to start the "Voice of the Rockies" in Boulder,CO back in the day, he put together a wonderful arrangement of this piece. He was an absolute genius. RIP Keith.

I've thought a show comprised of music by the Marsalis brothers would be incredible - with a lot of directions a design staff could take it.

Mvmt 1: Back to Africa by Delfeayo Marsalis - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kok-5MZPioQ

Mvmt 2: Hope by Branford Marsalis - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JkQcwPoxKO8 (esp. 6:45 on)

Mvmt 3: Amen from the Abyssinian Mass by Wynton Marsalis - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3eZpws6UWQ

Keith Markey of the Air Force Academy Drum Corps fame, amongst others?
