MikeD
I think the eye is because the Bliecoats winking trumpet soloist is on the BK brass staff for 2017. http://ascendperformingarts.org/blue-knights-announce-2017-brass-staff/
garfield
He got a callback to from 1st camp & did great, but ultimately was cut at the 2nd camp. He'll be back next year - guaranteed! Same for mine. He'll be back...

No winking. No blinking. No sleep. This is an eye that has seen things. Our winking and happy-go-lucky Shayne O'Brien will be shocked into a new reality when the 2017 tour begins. The rest of the formerly friendly BK staff will turn on him and reveal their true faces as they impose bottomless cups of coffee, endless cans of Red Bull, and other methods of sleep deprivation on him. They'll have some vaguely stated goal in mind, and they'll keep claiming that he has the right eye for the job. They'll say it was all preordained. About two weeks out from the championships, during a late night convoy between show sites, Shayne O'Brien's shattered consciousness will make him see something he's never seen before as he stares blankly out a staff van window into the 3am darkness. He'll speak aloud what he saw. His vision will be put into the show. It will be the final puzzle piece in another mysterious BK show theme. But Shayne O'Brien will never be the same again. ... And, yes, I realize that scenario is completely absurd, because we already know that staff members don't get any sleep during tour. :-)

I still like..." Can't take my eyes off of you" though. I predict BK will have their full visual show ready before July for the summer's competition this season. I think they've learned their past lessons regarding incomplete shows, and unpreparedness to enter the early season competition's scheduled shows. I expect big things from them this season as a result. Edited December 30, 2016 by BRASSO

Check out the graphs on their website if you haven't.

garfield
The _Kid found this and explained that it's a "thing" in social media now. Find something that repeatedly happens in a movie, a TV show, a play, a performance, or the like and, every time it happens, change something about the performance. I know, it's weird, but... Someone brought the idea to BK's 2016 battery performance. Many will know that their performance was loaded with crescendo-rolls, like this (watch it several times if needed): BK Crescendo Roll This user made the crescendo-roll the "what happens" and he sped up the video each time it occurs. The result is pretty funny (maybe only to drummers - I get it) and eerily satisfying as the video quality doesn't degrade even when, by the end of their show, they're playing at something like 10,000 bpm. It's their whole show done in a little over two minutes: BK 2016 Battery sped up on each Crescendo-Roll Well, I thought it was hilarious, anyway.
