Barneveld
Posted on the corps' Facebook page tonight: "This weekend the BACPit welcomed two guest consultants to spring training, Jack Mansager, former marimba soloist from Blast!, and Richard Cravens Jr, formerly of the Blue Man Group! We were honored to have both Jack and Richard on hand to work on "Marimba Spiritual" and taiko drum techniques!"

Narrow
23 minutes ago, brassdude6171 said: this is what happens when there's actually funding in drum corps. you can have winter camps in florida (where over 50% of the membership resides, according to holland on facebook), spring training at a college campus in vermont with the members having access to the dorms and the college's dining hall. you can have your pick of the litter when it comes to staff and when great design is let loose to act freely and has great instructional staffs, talent frickin comes. so what we see this year will be a result of that. money talks, but in this industry, money effin' yells. Can't forget the good management and great support from the community that makes it possible. Money doesn't grow on trees after all.

That's probably why some corps have been successful for decades.

BRASSO
As mentioned, Boston brought in guest consultants Jack Mansager and Richard Cravens to offer additional instructional helpful advice to Boston's Percussion section up in Vermont. Mansager was a former marimba soloist in the Tony and Emmy Award winning show " Blast ! ", and Cravens was a former Percussionist in the multi Award winning percussive production with " Blue Man Group ". Both pictured here yesterday in Vermont. Cravens did phenomenal work with the 2011 corps, especially "the demons" in their role playing, musicianship, and communications of both. Whatever corps has the benefit of their wisdom has hired true masters.
