I love me the preseason hype.  Everything is possible until the cold fish of reality slaps us upside the head June 21.  Then the bitterness begins.

This is so true. Some of the hype comes from people that have never even seen these Corps in the winters, or at Move Ins. How amazing is that ?... lol!

In the end, no doubt some of the hype will be shown to have been warranted, and in other cases, it was all just wished for noise. With so much of the current judging points based increasingly  now on the Show Design/ Guard/ Visuals, its literally impossible at this stage to know what  the judges will think/ do.

But... in the absence of much in the manner of officially released info/ videos from the Corps with show music clips/ show visuals clips, something has to fill that void. So in today's Need to Know world,  its " hype " that fills that void.

Exactly! Most of us are going off of what little hype we've experienced and any available info about the show. If you're a fan of a certain corps it all looks fantastic on paper until the first show.  We are optimistic, as we should be. :) Everything below is all in good fun. I'm certainly guilty of this.

=================================================

Before the Season:

  • "Just you wait, corps A is going to be a force"
  • "we're moving up this year"
  • "this show is going to be awesome" :)
  • "we are so much further along than we were last year"

Then after the first show what we get is:

  • "Judges got it wrong"
  • "Just wait until they clean"
  • "wait until the new ending is in place"
  • "we should have beat so and so in brass"

Then at mid-season we get:

  • "slotting"
  • "it's all opinion anyways"
  • "just wait until the 2nd new ending is in place"
  • "wait until they hit 208 in the closer"

Then a few days in front of DCI Finals:

  • "I hear so and so is going to pull a few tricks out of the bag" (whatever than means...usually cheese)
  • "I hear corps B rewrote their ending"
  • "so and so is going to be a dark horse"

Then after Finals:

  • "wait until next year"
  • "we needed one more week...maybe three"
  • "The members did as much as they could with this poorly designed show" (contrary to our thoughts at the onset of the season)

:lle:

As for real hype I am excited for Crown, Bluecoats, Cadets, BD, Boston for sure, and pretty much everyone out there. Competitively I do want to see what Boston will bring to the table. Will they be ready to take a top 5 position?  Really pulling for a Madison Scout resurgence.

Reading the threads, it appears, once again, that EVERY corps is LEAPS and BOUNDS ahead of where they were last season!!!!!

EVERY corps is going to finish in First Place.

Yay!!!

Well Cavalier  brass is vastly improved  this year, so there is reason to hype. Percussion and  guard are great too, and last years effort was  pretty high, so I'm excited about  them. Definitely  worthy of medal  talks, so I dunno.

Cavalier's brass has a Carolina Crown alumni to thank for that from what I hear. Lol. #SpreadingLikeWildfire

True, and Carolina Crown has Star Alumni to thank for that sound, too.  #WEAREALLCONNECTED

15 days until the Detroit Premiere.  BAC ST camp breaks on June 14, one week from tomorrow.  That is also their first public performance (other than camp previews) at The Concert in the Park (free) in downtown Boston at 5pm. When do other corps break ST?

The Cavaliers are camped at Adrian College in Michigan. Pretty sure they aren't breaking camp until a day or so before the opening day show at Ford Field in Detroit and then just EPL'ing to that first show.
