Drum corps belongs outside, not indoors in a room As recently as 2000 I spent all day Thursday, from the 'heat of the day' on Friday, in the baking sun to enjoy prelims and semis. Saturday's finals night seemed like a 'oh wow, this is tolerable weather' despite being rather muggy yet. 1
Liahona
I've taken a look at the 3 day schedules for performances within a 3 (MTSU) to 4 1/2(NightBeat) hour proximity in the same weekend from (ATL)Atlanta if driving. I have my tickets for Atlanta, but I will probably be going to the Crown show as well to catch everyone that was not in Atlanta. I recall MTSU being a good show, but 3 days of driving in a few days is a bit much. Maybe if I was in my 20's again I'd feel different. Friday Night is MTSU (Murfreesboro) Saturday is ATL(Atlanta) Sunday NightBeat (Winston-Salem) Corps that will be at all 3 of these Shows: Blue Devils - Concord, CA Bluecoats - Canton, OH Boston Crusaders - Boston, MA Carolina Crown - Fort Mill, SC The Cavaliers - Rosemont, IL Santa Clara Vanguard - Santa Clara, CA Corps at MTSU & NightBeat (Not at ATL): Blue Knights - Denver, CO Corps at MTSU & Atlanta Parc (not at NightBeat): Blue Stars - La Crosse, WI Music City - Nashville, TN Corps only at ATL (not at MTSU or NightBeat): The Academy - Tempe, AZ Atlanta CV - Atlanta, GA Genesis - Austin, TX Gold - San Diego, CA Heat Wave - Tampa Bay, FL Madison Scouts - Madison, WI Mandarins - Sacramento, CA Phantom Regiment - Rockford, IL Spirit of Atlanta - Atlanta, GA Corps at NightBeat ONLY (Not at MTSU or ATL): The Cadets - Allentown, PA Colts - Dubuque, IA Crossmen - San Antonio, TX Jersey Surf - Camden County, NJ Pacific Crest - Diamond Bar, CA Seattle Cascades - Seattle, WA Troopers - Casper, WY

Don't recall any conversations about Orlando, and I was there in Atlanta and it was fine.

Drum corps does not work indoors upside is the financial deal DCI gets, as well as finals never gets rained out. besides visual is so much of the process now, sound isn't always needed

( note i said finals i was there at quarters in 94)
