It’s no secret that – like you – we are feeling tremendous economic pressure in a year already filled with challenges.

In preparation for our first show of the second half of our 2022 tour this evening, we fueled the fleet and filled up the generators with a price tag of nearly $4,000.

We then went shopping for food for just the next few days and rang up another stunning $6,000 at the register – nearly twice what we paid for the same things for the 2019 tour.

We are freaking out a little bit knowing that we have to do this a few more times during the final 3 weeks of the DCI Summer Tour… knowing that with a slightly smaller corps than usual, we have less current members paying tour fees to help get us down the road.

To cut to the chase, we REALLY need your help in order to finish the season strong… and safely.

There’s never been a more urgent need for financial support from our former marching members, former staff and volunteers, extended Surf families and true fans of drum corps and the Jersey Surf. We don’t like asking our friends for money, but we have no choice. We humbly request that you consider making an urgent tax-deductible contribution to our general fund today.

To get things started, my wife and I are pledging to match the first $10,000 in donations which arrive over the next few days. We’re willing to continue to do our part to ensure that the Jersey Surf is able to deliver on its mission to the outstanding young people we serve.

We hope that you will join us with a gift of any size and will allow us to double the impact of that gift.

Thanks as always for supporting the organization we’ve built together. We’ll look forward to hearing from you soon. Please help any way you can.

Yours in the Surf,

Bob Jacobs
Executive Director 1990-2022

Support Surf. This year’s show is as enjoyable as “Bridgemania” and “Soul Surfing” and it’s fun to see. Remember too they work hard at making sure anyone who wants to march with them and makes the commitment can do so, including this past year, and works to keep corps expenses at a minimum.

This is really unfair to the kids and their parents. This is not what they signed up for. Business planning needs to come before show planning.
