I may be wrong but I don’t believe a keytar is a percussion instrument.

Neither were the wind controller and other non-perc instruments used by Teal Sound, but they were allowed.

Keyboard instruments are considered percussion. The most common of these are the piano, organ, and various electronic keyboards, including synthesizers and digital pianos.

This is false.  Acoustic pianos are sometimes considered percussion because the felt hammers actually 'strike' the strings to produce the sounds.  Electronic instruments are just that, not percussion. (Although for the marching arts, they are grouped with the greater percussion section. But from a pedagogical/music theory/music history standpoint, they are not percussion instruments.)

My point wasn’t about it being allowed.  It was about someone calling it a percussion instrument.  It is actually kind of cool.  Just not percussive.

Although Boston's trumpet soloists are both aging out, the Bari soloist is only 19 and can march 2 more years.  Fun fact:  his nickname is Freddie Mercury due to his famous mustache.

He’s undoubtedly gonna be featured in future performances as well, no doubts there

I think she was great too but I’d consider Bostons singer in Wicked Games better.

Boston's vocalist in their 2015  " Conquest " themed show was their best, imo. She was the best I have ever heard in a Drum Corps show, any year. She marched Blessed SAC guard in WGI, and marched Boston. She was actually classically trained in voice, and this too set her apart in her superior talents in her singing when called upon in the show.   24c122fb155fb539d623ef518f1b81d1--winter-guard-crusaders.jpg
