Two best soloists of DCI 2022

Recommended Posts

Obviously, being a big Mandarins fan, I really enjoy Charles' singing. I think it does a wonderful job of setting the mood and really building up the ballad. And then bringing him back in at the end really puts an exclamation on the performance. Wether or not anybody is a fan of singing in drum corps, I think they did an excellent job of integrating it into the show.

Is it possible they are both on Boston? The baritone solo in dialogue with the battery and the trumpet screamer are both outstanding!

Any other nominees for best soloist this year? I’ve seen but a small fraction of the corps’ shows this summer and curious to hear of other stand-outs.

I thought when you mentioned both soloists you were going to bring up blue stars. The trumpet and baritone soloists

I know it was 2018 but after session 44 bluecoats with  Olivia singing , no one should’ve  program singing in shows after that. Her style and technique is the best we have ever heard on the field 😊

I may be wrong but I don’t believe a keytar is a percussion instrument.

I think she was great too but I’d consider Bostons singer in Wicked Games better.

Just imagine if that keytar solo could have been played with a trumpet. That would have been amazing if a trumpet soloist could ever nail it.

As a brass person I'll say Boston's euphonium soloist is beyond amazing! It's an absolute clinic.
Carnival of Venice is a treat and the soloist is wonderful, but I give my second pick to Keytar dude.
