Even I admit that.

They are the SEAL Team Six of Vanguard.

Problem is real SEAL Team Six guys see them as nothing but band geeks and the closest thing they probably associate with DCI is the USMC Drum and Bugle Corps.

And here's where the real SEAL Team Six guys would be amiss...

I personally see the (alum and current) cymbal line of SCV as a national treasure. There. I said it.

They are the longest running continual culture bearers of a very specific American tradition. That would be lost or severely damaged if those cats weren't holding up their traditions.

This is something worth fighting for, just as any other good part of Vanguard, but this one is unique and special. And no, fellow alum, I don't mean infighting between us, I mean fighting together for sustainability and longevity of our traditions. Especially ones as sacred as the cymbal line. No other section has maintained with such care as they have. That deserves special care. That's where my motivation comes from.

Do Corps do these calculations?

I thought of doing this. A money ball type calculation.

Dollars spent all divided by scores per caption. But that would need payroll data at an individual level.

Dollars spend on props all divided by General Effect score.

etc.....

You can never have enough cymbal instructors.

Some specialize in the left hand, some in the right.

Really? Is this Drumline Battle or Drum corps? Asking for a Dino friend.

Do they work for Twix during the off-season?

As I recall, yes.

IIRC this was filmed in spring 1985, but didn’t come out until fall.  Idk how many in the commercial actually marched that year (no overage restrictions for commercials).  1985 was their final season with the Christmas show placing 26th.
