crfrey71
I voted for cadets, with Bluecoats a very close 2nd. I loved when Rondo said "Tika taka tika taka taco bell" The Cadets rapping, a vocal percussion ensemble was so cheesy!
bawker
I loved when Rondo said "Tika taka tika taka taco bell" BWHAHAHAHA! They actually let him get away with that? Rondo is gettin' brave in his old age. :P
MN DCI Fan
Definitely Blue Devils, but followed closely by the 'Coats. I actually liked the way Cascades used the narration, and Cadets' use is fairly palatable as well.
tbobaz
hands down the blue devils---ever since i saw them in indy i wake with cold sweats at night screaming YOWZA_YOWZA_YOWZA---if this keeps up i'll have to scratch the DVD when it comes in...lol
geluf
I don't think what Coats did is really "narration" per se. But yeah, its still annoying.
DrumCorpsRadio
I'm not sure that the narration itself is what bugged me about BD. I didn't like the show design - I've read others who said things along the lines of: the corps seems like background music to the narration/concept behind the show. The members perform wonderfully in most areas, but I don't like their concept. I have no problem with the way it was used by the other corps. "Tika Taka tika taka and whatever that drum rap cadets was doing was way more then the "Yowsa" Yowsa was said 6 times in a matter of 15 seconds and that was it for "Yowsa." SkyRyder_FMM
What I'd like to know is that since narration has been added, will sign language interpreters be provided?
ContraRich77
There is ONE thing I noticed that I'm not sure anyone else has: Of the corps that used narration LAST year, NONE of them are using it THIS year. wonder why...
audiodb
Yowza, yowza, yowza! That's a tough choice. All four are annoying to me. Yowza, yowza, yowza! The Blue Devils and Cascades more so, though, because their narration lasts longer. Yowza, yowza, yowza! Just a couple of minor changes could make things more entertaining, though. Yowza, yowza, yowza! Imagine this twist on finals night: "One thousand hours of continuous dance...." becomes "One thousand hours of continuous amplified narration...." Yowza, yowza, yowza! Or the Cascades could alter: "Will man once again create the enemy?" to "Will Yamaha once again create the enemy?" Yowza, yowza, yowza! Now we're talking! Seriously, though, I'm afraid the reality is that nearly all good music renders narration unnecessary. Yowza, yowza, yowza! And at that point, any attempt to add narration anyway just seems inane and out of place. Yowza, yowza, yowza!
