Carolina Crown 2024
WildcatMello replied to MadisonBandMan1's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Just finished listening to it. It's very interesting. It gives me 2019 vibes. The way some of it sounds, makes me visualizing parts of different brass sections playing it facing backfield while other brass sections playing at the same time but facing front field. The reverb would be insane. - Today

Wasn't referring to you, but see why you might think so. An extension after three years of delinquency is understandably frustrating to some. They've previously discussed catching up on their filing timelines and even getting ahead in their public communications. This counters that self imposed goal. They also promised transparency, and that we are even discussing it like this without communication outward from them shows they haven't really improved in that regard as much as they need to. We don't disagree about some of the causes of the lack of documentation. I still have not said anything about fraud or foul play... you keep saying that. I find those underlying causes you described problematic in a charity non profit given the context I provided that you are not engaging about. Revolving doors, poor processes, yeah, can and should be fixed... But as I pointed out earlier, I have documented reasons to have my doubts and you continue to ignore those. I've always wanted them to prove me wrong. So far, no dice. You're still cherry picking this charity status and avoiding everything else I bring to the table as evidence for my opinion. Their show announcement or improvements in communication/ transparency can't come soon enough.

Actually it will be three. Gotta go to Pacific Crest family day here in SoCal to support @spacewill kid. Super excited for PC this year. How awesome would it be if California got four corps into finals! -
And BD Family Day is June 23 in Pittsburg....

Not a troll, but you expressed your disdain for the organization filing an extension on filing a tax form that is normal and done frequently. I would advise them to file the extension to ensure financials are put in order so that the filing can be accurate. Lack of documentation on hand would make sense in the world of a revolving door of leadership and personnel. It doesn’t mean there’s fraud. It doesn’t mean theres ill will and mischievousness afoot. It’s poor processes. Which can and should be fixed. Hence a qualified opinion on an audit. Furthermore, a qualified opinion isn’t the worst opinion when it comes to an audit. It suggests that there are issues within the financials or the process of preparing the financials. But nothing that cannot be corrected or is further materially misstated to the point that they are entirely unreliable.

A Vieux Carre is to a Sazerac like a Manhattan is to an old fashioned. And don’t even start with the La Louisiana
