  1. Seattle Cascades 2002 (Make Our Garden Grow) Cadets 1998 (The runs in the ballad) Crown 2005 (The whole #### thing)
  2. I'm still not convinced that even the 12th spot is still open... Spirit's about 3 points up on the rest of the competition. "It's only the 12th of July," I know, I know... I still see it as no contest at the moment, unless some other corps surprises the #### out of us. And believe me, I definitely wouldn't mind seeing some surprises!!! b**bs
  3. Are you people all forgetting that this is basically what Yamato does every year?!
  4. 1. Cavies 86.30 2. Cadets 84.85 3. Blue Knights 80.8 4. SCV 80.75 5. Blue Stars 75.25 6. Crossmen 74.00 7. Cascades 61.95
  5. Troop and Kiwanis on vacation. Cadets cause seizures. Seems like Stars never left. BD/Cavies battle once again. Hooray beer!
  6. In recent history, yes. Absolutely. But not of all time. There have been plenty of div 2 and 3 corps scored on Div 1 sheets in the past that scored 5's or so.
  7. Is it just me, or do some of the mods remind people of MLB umpires? A little too power-hungry and trigger happy on the "ejections," if you ask me.
  8. I don't think you took that in the proper context. I believe what was implied is that everyone said their scores were inflated when they were on the west coast, and now that they've come to a competition farther east, their scores are still high. So he was being sort of sarcastic in asking "are the scores STILL inflated," as in "what's your excuse going to be for the high score NOW?"
  9. When cymbal players try to rap: "Said my #### don't dance, We just pull up our pants and Do da Roc-away. Now lean back, lean back, lean back, lean back!"
  10. 1. The Cadets 84.0 2. Phantom 82.75 3. Boston 80.50 4. Crown 79.85 5. Glassmen 77.9 6. Spirit 74.5 7. Crossmen 74.35 8. “The” Magic 66.30

  12. DISCLAIMER: The first paragraph of this post is in jest, and in no way meant to be retaliatory. As they say, I'm just "bustin your balls." Eh, so we lost one game after an unbelievable streak where the Sox were batting a team average of roughly .330. It's ok. We can't expect to win them all. However, today's 11-1 lead (as of now) makes up for the loss in the first game of the series. ;) That 28-9 win a few years ago was great, too! :) Anyway, back on topic... great review Bill! I enjoyed your review because it was concise and I felt you were being honest without any real biases. Great to see someone state the good and "needs work" portions of each show rather than strictly praise or bash a corps.

  16. I see that you all find it hard to believe that Boston nearly beat Phantom in GE tonight... but didn't they actually beat them in GE LAST night?
  17. 76.75 - Cadets 74.25 - Phantom 72.85 - Boston 68.00 - Spirit 61.70 - S-Dub 56.60 - Magic
  18. WOW!!! Could the Blue Stars be the 2002 Seattle Cascades all over again? With such a strong start out of the gate (and much closer to the Colts than I ever would have imagined), they could be a strong contender for the top 12! I just find it incredible that they're starting the season off so much higher score-wise in Division 1 than they did in Division 2 last year. Go stars, man!
  19. 78.0 - The Cadets 73.9 - Phantom Regiment 66.2 - Spirit of JSU 61.3 - Southwind 56.7 - The Magic 58.8 - Teal Sound
  20. Didn't they also place 5th in semis or quarters that year? I'd love to see some new faces climb the ladder to the top 5. I don't even care who it is... I just want it to happen. Good for Blue Knights if they can be that corps.
  21. By the time the Cadets have their first competition this weekend, they will have had from May 19-June 22nd for move-ins. With over one full month of move-ins, I'm sure this corps will be squeaky clean for Thursday (if the kids aren't completely drained by then).
  22. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that The Academy doesn't even break 70. Blue Devils - 77.0 SCV - 72.3 Blue Knights - 69.5 Academy - 69.8 Jester - 39.4
  23. 76.85 Cavaliers 73.50 Phantom 72.75 Bluecoats 68.40 Glassmen
  24. Aren't those the same uniform as last year, but without the sash(sp?) in front?
  25. My parents have never been supportive of my involvement in any sort of music activity. In fact, they're the reason why I am not majoring in music, even though I got a partial scholarship to do so. I am now 21 and find myself in my age-out year. I have found a corps to march in, and I am going to go through with this summer. Unfortunately for me, I am now putting off my graduation by at least another six months due to not taking classes in the summer and not going on my last internship. Throughout this whole ordeal my parents have been so unsupportive that they have cut me off financially (and pretty much in every other way imaginable until I "change my mind"), forcing me to find a way to pay for the remainder of my college education. I'm not even going to school for something I love, it's for something they sort of forced on me. Needless to say, finding money to march has also been... difficult, for lack of a better word. To all of you who have parents that support your involvement in Drum Corps, and willingly support your dreams in general, be sure to thank them for it. There are those of us out there who aren't quite as lucky.
