1988 to be exact, the 10% rule if I remember correctly stated that you couldn't add more than ten percent to the corps after Aug 1. Funny thing is there was a group or two who added more than Bush did, they just didn't win. On another note, remember the 1971 Yankee Rebels who came out totally unprepared then took a few shows off mid season and made a run towards the title at the end.

I think the people who run DCP have done a much better job of controlling things so that it doesn't become RAMD. btw, I think "she" has moved on to thankfully parts unknown.

There's gonna be a lot of "City of Angels on the field this year

There are so many that it's probably impossible to list all, but the top tier includes Eric Perrilouix, Wes Meyers, Don Quinn, Bobby Thomson, Carman Cluna, Hy Drietzer, Sid Austin(Wynn Center Toppers),the 1966 Chicago Cavaliers and George Brown my first instructor who gave me an opportunity at the age of six to play with the big boys providing I practiced every day without fail.

In sharing the pride of also being taught by Eric when with the St. Ritas Brassmen, today is an extremely sad day.

Very sorry to hear of Joe's passing, sincerest condolences to his family, may he rest in peace.

Sounds like a great show, sad to hear that the corps will no longer be around after next season.

Whatever happened it's not good to have a corps leave DCA, it doesn't get more real than that

One thing that can't be argued is that all of these corps will come in "smoking" and the chips will fall where they may. At that point the Jeff Ream rule will apply. "The corps with the highest score will win"

I have a championship patch for the first 5 DCA wins I was a part of, got medals and patches for the other 4. To be honest, the knowing smiles when I see people I marched or taught with is really all the display I need.

I am very sad to hear of Chuck's passing. While I didn't know him well, I've had quite a few interactions with him over the years in DCA, he was always pleasant and helpful. May he rest in peace

I marched 75 Sky, I can tell you the best snares played snare, not sure where you heard that story.

MBI knows how to do what they do, I'm sure whatever changes they will make have been planned out and they know their membership. Not a big deal

A great night for drumcorps, great crowd, great weather,nice stadium (looks a lot different than when I was last there for the 72 world Open). The only drawback was the group warming up close to the stadium louder at times than the corps on the field, not cool

There's no shot at that happening, most corps are lucky to come out when they do due to non commitment issues they have to deal with from their membership at times. Smaller groups even more so
