  1. PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUCEMENT: DCP's DrumScorps App (FREE in your Apple and Google Play app store) provides updated scores from DCI shows around the country. Notifications are sent to your mobile device when scores are received - eliminating the need for users to have to sit by their computer until all hours of the night - hitting the F5 'Refresh' button. This has been a public service announcement.
  2. Nice sounding new System Blue horn line there OC!!
  3. I'd like to offer a couple of great, reliable places for scores: and for your iPhone and Android devices:
  4. I don't see the "Big Red Warning page" that you refer to on our Rankings page (http://www.drumcorpsplanet.com/stats-captions/). A review of the code sent does not reveal anything in our source that would cause an issue. The issue could be related to a banner ad via Google Adsense - but those adverts are selected and presented based on your individual browsing history ... so we're not going to get the same banners you do. If you're referring to a different page/URL - please send via email to support@drumcorpsplanet.com. Thanks -john
  5. I'd like to take a moment to thank Stuart Pompel and the Pacific Crest Board of Directors for their courage in making the decision to move this show from nice (albeit small) college stadiums to the iconic Rose Bowl. It is a huge undertaking and certainly comes with risk .... but the upside is an incredible opportunity to perform and enjoy this activity we love in an amazing venue with a lot of room for growth. I know it was a team effort and there are a lot of people to thank for the great show last night. I look forward to seeing an increasing audience and continued success for Pacific Crest at what is becoming one of the great shows of the season. Bravo!! -john
  6. In my haste to get the recaps going and the Box Office open for the Oceanside show, I forgot to also update the ranking component of the stats system. I have the Ranking for TOTAL fixed and will address the other options over the next couple of days. BIG apologies for the oversight and any confusion. -john
  7. Just in-time for a BIG weekend of drum corps - we have just released recap reports for the new 'summarized captions'. They are available in the DCP Scores pages (see Stats/Scores link at the top of this page) or on the DrumScorps app by pressing the 'grid' icon at the top right of any event's score page. THANK YOU for making DrumScorps the #1 app for the drum corps activity. We'd love to get your rating and review in your respective App Store ... especially if it is positive.
  8. I was in our local megaplex and the theater was only about 30% occupied. A couple of the local drum corps 'regulars', my son and I, and the rest were HS kids. I was surprised that there was little reaction to the shows - the crowd was pretty quiet throughout. I was one of the only people that actually clapped at the end of a corps' show. We may have had a different experience if Vanguard or Devs were on the big screen. Like others have noted, our screen was dark at 5:30 (PDST) and it finally got underway about 5 minutes late. They got it back in-sync between corps about half-way through the show. Audio was ok, but not fantastic - other than Boston's pit was waaay too loud.
  9. Yes - as noted earlier, we wanted to wait-n-see a few shows with the new scoring model before making any changes to our recap. My plan is to have an update, including last night's details, sometime next week. Did everyone get the Notification last night when the scores were published?
  10. Thank you for the kind words, G_ ... and your prolific and insightful contribution to our community. I'm looking forward to your next 10,000.
  11. We were alerted to an issue and have already taken remedial action. The issue has been resolved - but it will take time for the 'security flags' to be reset by Google and others. Hopefully all of the warnings will clear in the next 24-48 hours. Thank you for your patience. -john
  12. It is certainly possible for a member's account to be "Banned" for serious or repeated violation of our Community Guidelines and/or Terms of Service. Their posts (those that have not been removed for such violations) remain in the discussion history after their 'departure'.
  13. Good catch. I've changed the ordinal/placement calculation to use the "Standard competition ranking ('1224')" ranking, rather than the "Dense ranking ('1223')" method, for the recaps we produce. Thank you for bringing that to my attention. As for recaps in DrumScorps, we'll have a look at the data DCI releases for a few shows and decide what we'll include in our reporting. -john
  14. With just over a week before the season starts, make sure you have the latest version of DrumScorps installed on your iPhone and Android devices. We've just released an update that corrects a couple of minor issues - so things should be ready-to-go. We would also appreciate your taking a moment to provide a rating and review for the app in your respective App Store - positive, I hope. Thank you for your support. -john and Drew

  16. As I understand it, DCI has all-age 'associate members' that may perform and compete with other like organizations at a DCI-sanctioned contest. I don't believe there is an "all-age division", per-se. Drum Corps Associates (DCA) is an entirely different organization and sanctioning body ... although they do cooperate with DCI in some ways.
  17. I regularly scan the site for nasty bits and find no evidence of there being any problem. The site appears on a blacklist ('Yandex via Sophos') - but NOT on the 'majors' ... Google Safe Browsing, Norton Safe Web, Phish tank, Opera, SiteAdvisor, Sucuri Malware Labs, SpanHaus DBL, Bitdefender, and ESET. Maybe business is slow over at "Yandex" ("Russia's most popular search engine and most visited website") and they need more 'pay us to remove your site from our blacklist' revenue? It sure feels a lot like this to me ...
  18. No mention of your browser - which is the most likely source of the problem. First thing to try - clear your browser cache and re-load the page ... and with it, the editor code. Try Google Chrome, which is 'more compatible' than most, IMO. The feature works just fine for me.
