MikeD
Yet, not all bands have always been drum corps, fyi Yes, correct.
DrumCorpsFan27
Drum corps instrumentation has been moving towards the band world long before DCI came along. Is it written in stone that they must use band instruments? No. Thank you, your honor. No more questions.
DrumCorpsFan27
Synthesizers...it just allows another kid an opportunity to be a part of drum corps. I repeat, drum corps excludes no one who is motivated to learn. Also, it does not allow another kid an opportunity because with a 150 member limit, for every synth player, a different opportunity in a different section is lost. There will still be 150 marching members, synths or no.
mellos
Good for them. It's about time Synth's were used in Drum Corps. Blast! has been using them for years! Progress! Change! (God, I sound like an Obama campaign!...And really...what's wrong with that!)

Jeff Ream
I've heard your work with synths and stuff. I like it, and if you are still working with the Crossmen i can't wait to hear what it will sound like. I really think Crossmen have an advantage with proper usage of this stuff having you on board.... however, I thought their brass book could have been a lot better this year. I enjoyed the music last year, but it needs to be scored to be played louder or more effective (now i know someone else did the orchestrations and such). Overall though, i really liked your twist on the planets. IMO, my fear is that synths are used to mask deficiencies on the field to where people become uber dependant on them. I've seen it on the band side. "our low brass is bad...let's use the synth" then as time goes on, the staff stops trying to develop the low brass and relies on the crutch up front
silvertrombone
Why are you YELLING at us? CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER THE SYNTH!! DID YOU SAY SOMETHING???
jth1206kp
We'll just have to trust that the program design team knows what they're doing. That line goes right up there with Gen. George A. Custer saying, "Dont worry...those look like friendly indians" right before the Battle of Little Big Horn.
