Jeffe77
What about John Horner or Hans Zimmer? I wish more corps would play Hans Zimmer.
Zeke
When was this? Scouts played one of his songs in '07. As well as Cascades in '05.
CUDAKITE
Some people don't want to hear another interpretation or re-arrangement of their work. Yeah, I'm sure they go to DC shows all the time and are offended when they hear their work... Of course, given the fact that I would have never purchased the originals of everything from the "City Of Angels" cast recording to Don Sebesky's "Bird and Bela in Bb" without drum corps, you'd think more composers would be receptive to it. Yes exactly. Not sure I see where the harm would be. Edited November 4, 2008 by CUDAKITE
monoemono
Arrogant composers who really don't care about anything else except how they want their music to be heard. See, this I don't understand, because if I was a composer, the question of how I want my music to be heard would be best answered, "as often as possible!". Zeke
No Kidding, after hearing BD 91, I went out bought Don Sebesky's stuff That Hornline and Arrangement are most definitely in the Top 4 Best BD Shows of all time. That '91 Hornline was one hell of a Wicked, smoking Hornline. That could be one killer show to Revisit with a better current day Visual and Drumline at least Bird and Bela in Bflat. No foolin'...if ANY corps wanted to do a piece I composed, I'd pull a Holsinger and help 'em out!!

CrunchyTenor
Really? I thought he even worked with the Cadets (or at least went to rehearsal and a show or two) during finals week that year. I think I remember hearing this as well, that he was at finals in 99. Can any 99 Cadets confirm this? Alfred Reed came to a Regiment rehearsal in 84 when they were performing "Armenian Dances". After peeling his face off in the horn arc, they took him up to the box and marched it for him, too. My lovely bride, who marched that summer in the Regiment guard, says he was thrilled and shook hands with every single corps member.
