I have used 8-to-5 to measure my desired deck size for the contractor, to determine exactly fow far my golf ball is from the pin (based on the 150yd marker), to lay out the proper distance for beanbag toss at tailgates, and once to prove to a police officer that my car was parked far enough away from a fire hydrant.
