Jeff Ream
1981 and 1987 Westshoremen on the DCI side. Didn't cadets have some in 84 too?
1977Kingsmen
I would say Boston 2000. Lets not talk about Garfield in 77 lol.
JimF-LowBari
Yeah, I was at one of those shows (can't remember which one though). The Cadets took a hit but I guess they figured...."Aughhh what the hell". Finals they didn't do it. Pretty well known pic at the time of a member holding a sign saying "no singing due to 1 pt penalty" at the final hit. Ticked me off as I saw it at an exhibition show and was telling my family during the DCI telecast "Wait til you see this" and nothing happened. Pss Jeff.... typo.. "Music" was done done well but I didn't like it.... yeah, yeah old pharte tradionalist.
3rd Glasgow BB
I quite enjoyed Garfield's singing in 1984. Just before they played America I think.
michsta8
I think the Cadets did a vocal Amen some time in the mid seventies that cost them some points. Historians wade in. IMO there is no good singing in DC, it is all god-awful and should be avoided. Kevin i beleive it was 78 or

MikeD
Just listened to 1992 SCV. One of my all-time favorite shows. Just curious about some instances of singing in drum corps. Who? When? Like it? Hate it? And I'm not really asking abut amplified voice in the case of 2004 Crown. I prefer amplified voice for the most part, as it is more in balance with the brass, unless the corps is going for a quieter sung moment, then unmicced is fine. The Crown 04 quartet and Cadets 06 solist were both great examples to me. Cadets "Amen" in 77...wish they had done it at finals.

md60
1985 Star of Indiana sang Mickey Mouse during a breif ballad of the theme song for the Mickey Mouse Club.It added to the show theme of course and sounded nice.
