jjeffeory
It'll make sense later. All in due time. Hmmmm, Your possible clue coupled with the music I heard and the last several years worth of shows gave me some ideas about what this year's show theme might be.... Of course I'll wait and see how close I am... Like Klesch arrangements for sure. Edited February 5, 2013 by jjeffeory
crfrey71
Still going with the Paul-Lovatt Cooper angle. Considering what their 2012 show was about, wouldn't it make sense that they also play this Lovatt Cooper tune? It would make a perfect show name, as well. splat-a-drag-a-phonium
THANK YOU Jim and Crown for posting this little audio clip!! One can only hope additional clips to follow.
the lone ranger
Don't forget colorguard! (Yes, I realize they got third, but it was a a half-point from first). Just a few minor tweaks and it can be their year! Speaking of not forgetting the colorguard. I know splitting hairs and tenths here. But crowns guard overall was 2nd place this year. Prelims crown had 19.0 phantom 18.9 Semis had crown 19.5 phantom 19.4 which after two nights had crown with a two tenth advantage. Then finals night phantom beat crown by one tenth. With the overall caption placement determined by combining the three nights scores. Crown was 2nd place by one tenth over phantom in the guard caption overall.
Euphz
Well, it doesn't seem as overtly difficult as last season, (which to me is a plus). I guess Crown has decided that brass band is gonna be their new niche.
MikeN
I'm not really a brass band afficionado, but that was a pretty nice clip - catchy tune from what they played. Mike
JamMan
10 pages and I don’t believe we have a show theme and source music. Well from the home office located off the Frontage Road somewhere over the rainbow………I have it on absolutely no authorized authority that Carolina Crown’s 2013 show will be the……………………………………………………… “The Freebird Suite” by Lynyrd Skynyrd (pronounced leh-nerd skin-nerd). Songs to include “Sweet Home Alabama” (only played when the state of Alabama), the dance number of “Gimme Three Steps”, “Freebird” (only when yelled out between songs or the crowd is asked “What song is it that you want to hear……”), “That Smell”, “Tuesday’s Gone” (only played on Wednesday shows) and “What’s Your Name”. Reports have a “Special All-Star Jams” to happen nightly, but songs and artist are being kept in the top secret file cabinet on the front porch next to the old refrigerator……………… :w00t:/> The term "nuke the fridge" comes to mind when reading this. Funny post!
ohwiseone
Another recording of the ending of the piece. This pretty much sold me on it. I am already about it.
chaddyt
This would appear to have "######" written all over it. If rumors of a BD "Rite of Spring" are true and with Cadets tackling Barber, SCV Les Mis, PR's Triumphant Journey, etc... ... 2013 seems to be shaping up quite well so far.
