fsubone
Did I just hear you correctly? You "chose" not to march there because of the sleeves? Hmmm.... Perhaps if you take a closer look, I think you'll find The Cavaliers have had puffy sleeves since........always..... No, distance and show design were the main reasons. But a uniform can help. Why march somewhere if you're not going to like what you have to wear for years? Even if they've always had them, doesn't mean that everyone will like the "puffy pirate shirt" look. Maybe the black gauntlets make it stick out more, but I'm noticing it much more than in recent years.
ashevillemurphy
New pics from Crown's dress rehearsal on their Facebook page ... there is a good look at the "shako" which, as posted earlier, does not have a visible top but has the "e=mc2" chalkboard looking math formulas like the guard uni on the inside ... SpiritVet
Corps Proper: With regard to the puffy sleeves, this year and past years: See how tough and built this guy looks? And the corps is an all male corps. Ever consider that maybe THEIR ARMS ARE THAT BIG WOW LOOK AT EM GUNS Just a thought.

FlamMan
I love the fact that Garfield has stuck with their traditional military style cadet uniform. They understand & recognize that their style & identity is important. More Drum Corp should realize this.

drilltech1
Regarding the Cavaliers, a) they do their Spring Training ("pre-tour" in Cavie lingo) at a Benedictine abbey campus (St. Procopius's IBC, Lisle, Illinois) b) they start the show with the corps proper robed like a bunch of monks. Therefore, I ask, did the members read the small, small print of the contract which comes with its own vow of celibacy? Corps finances already operates under a vow of poverty.
