12th place has probably had the most interesting history out of all placements. It means something else every year and is completely different than it was back in the 80s. What do you think was the best 12th place show In dci history?

I'll beat hostrauser to the punch: Colts 1999.

I wish the colts were in finals more often.

I'll be a homer and go with Crossmen 2012. It was a fun show, but more importantly, it got them back into finals (if only for a year), and charged up the alumni base a great deal!!! But I also liked

99 Colts, 87 Sky Ryders, 09 Troopers

Thanks, Jeff. I wanted to include this one, but was afraid to do so for appearing too "low brow." This opening served little more than to say "Hello...we're BACK!!!!" Nothing earth-shattering in the message; but totally conclusive in the meaning.
