fsubone
1980. Stone Ground Seven. What a revolutionary piece of music, in a revolutionary show. Those SCV drumlines could really throw down
FlamMan
What a revolutionary piece of music, in a revolutionary show. Those SCV drumlines could really throw down 1980 SCV finished 8th in Drums. Not exactly one of the all time greats.
fsubone
1980 SCV finished 8th in Drums. Not exactly one of the all time greats. Still a pretty revolutionary show and piece. Winning doesn't mean they're great, or something that will continue to be remembered. Which shows are remembered more from 1980? Spirit and SCV, or BD and Bridgemen?
hughesmr
1980 SCV finished 8th in Drums. Not exactly one of the all time greats. Yes, and "Ordinary People" won the Best Picture Oscar in 1980 over Martin Scorsese's "Raging Bull." I believe one of those two films is universally considered a classic today.
quietcity
Speaking of SCV, 1984 Musika Bohema was, to my knowledge, the first quiet drum solo, and a beautiful piece of music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=AevfI-uBkE0 Too bad the camera work is so bad....
MikeN
BD's 2003 Brubeck Fantasy (opener) is the first "modern" piece that jumps to mind. Grooooooovy. As always, Crossmen '92 - Puma, but it's more of a break than a full feature. Mike
