perc2100
Maybe I'm showing my age... and maybe my 3 word answer doesn't qualify.. BLACK MARKET JUGGLER ... nuff said. Honorable Mention: Pat Pat, I was still single-digit in age when Bridgemen owned the field with that, but I will 100% agree with you the awesomeness of that Drum Break! perc2100
Yes, and "Ordinary People" won the Best Picture Oscar in 1980 over Martin Scorsese's "Raging Bull." I believe one of those two films is universally considered a classic today. ^^^ = check + mate

mingusmonk
Question - When did "Drum Solos" become "Drum Breaks"? Just curious... In that brief fleeting moment right before they became "Drum Features." Edited March 25, 2014 by mingusmonk
MikeN
Probably in the late 80's / early 90's when they weren't standalone songs, but either extended breaks in a horn piece or just long drum passages. The last real standalone (no brass) battery throwdown I can think of at Finals is Phantom's "Carnival of the Animals" in 1990, though I think there have been a handful since that are much more pit heavy. fsubone
Question - When did "Drum Solos" become "Drum Breaks"? Just curious... Probably when shows became more fluid, not pieces stuck together with breaks in between
