xandandl
Usually, the Santa musical unit at a minimum splits to the sidelines to let Rudolph and crew bring the Big Guy through the center. But 426 Madison Scouts is not the usual!!!
xandandl
This snippet from one of the articles is most interesting. Kudos to their publicity committee bringing attention to the Scouts and activity nationally. 426 — total members 329 — alumni members 97 — current members 8 — drum majors 19 — honor guard and banners 91 — color guard 243 — horn players 65 — percussionists 40 — states from which members hail 6 — countries from which members hail 15-75 — age range of members 1956-2014 — corps years represented

corpsband
This is all gonna be over far too quickly. Can we get a drone to follow them for the entire route? https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10205503284485404 Edited November 26, 2014 by corpsband
xandandl
Hey, Komnick and Stewart said nothing about the Men from Madison bringing Wisconsin SNOW, but here we have the NYC suburbs expecting 6-12 inches the first of the season! So with shovels at the ready, we mark time figuring out of the 243 horns, if 48 are shoulder thingies (contras/tubas), how many sops, how many mellos (a later add from the late 60's), how many baris, how many euphs in those remaining 195? Madison used to march a French horn section but press releases on individuals have them going mello. The real question is how many screamers in that Corps of Brothers over all those years? Who can do it higher and louder, louder than the other 242??? NY cannot wait. Watch out for falling glass! http://www.nbcnews.com/feature/30-seconds-to-know/what-does-it-take-be-macys-parade-balloon-n256106 Edited November 26, 2014 by xandandl

TCadogan
I was hoping that madison would be playing one of thier signature songs to showcase that 243 man hornline. But from what I hear is that they will be playing holiday music. The question is will these Christmas arrangements fit madison in your face style.Hopefully, it won't be a waste of a 243 man honeline. Happy Thanksgiving!
Daave
On the for what it's worth scale, they appear to have two flags presented to the right of the National Colors. Those two flags belong on the other side of the National Colors. United States Code Title 4 Chapter 1 — The Flag§7. Position and manner of display The flag, when carried in a procession with another flag or flags, should be either on the marching right; that is, the flag's own right, or, if there is a line of other flags, in front of the center of that line.
